About Us

The Cranston Citizens for Responsible Zoning and Development (CCRZD) was founded in 1996, as a City-Wide Citizens Advocacy Group to raise public awareness with regard to errors and omissions in the zoning process, as well as, in circumstances of non-compliance with state and local zoning laws. The CCRZD serves as a clearinghouse of information to and from residents in affected areas, where improper application of zoning laws cause an undue hardship or threat to the residents' health, safety, and welfare - - as well as a burden on the community and its infrastructure. It is CCRZD's intention to partner with local residents in peril in order to aid in fundraising and organization. Finally, CCRZD will work with our elected officials to set attainable goals ensuring the "process" and "loopholes" are corrected to future benefit and protect the residents.
